Ciera Staffords, A Responsible Strategy for a Changing Dog World:
Partner ~ Breed ~ Show ~ Rescue

Link to Daphne's PageWe are an enthusiast of quality Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Bull Terriers and also a rescue family for all Bull breeds. We are a partner with Jason Nicolai, www.HomebrewedStaffords.com who has been a huge influence and continues to help and guide on joint ventures. We are also enjoying a new relationship with Cindy Long, Heart N Soul Staffords.   If you are looking for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Bull Terrier please take a moment to go to the breed club rescue.    SBTCA Rescue or BTCA Rescue

We have recently become affiliated with Jane Killion and her amazing Puppy Culture program for rearing puppies. Throughout our website you will find references to the Puppy Culture way of raising puppies.  You can also click on one of the Puppy Culture graphics to be taken directly to the Puppy Culture website for a preview and more information. By following Puppy Culture protocols during the first 12 weeks we and our new owners are able to ensure that our puppies are well adjusted and good mannered and ready to take on anything, in a good way.   Please see our litter page to find out more about Puppy Culture and upcoming planned breedings.

It has always been a goal of ours to teach Responsible Dog Ownership by example.   We also wish to teach people what a Responsible Breeder or Rescue Group really is.   If you want to know how to break down the walls to participate in community Shelter and Rescue work, we have answers.    We also want people to know what to do if you find yourself unable to care for your dog and how having a responsible breeder is the key.  The dog world is changing and we believe a Breeder needs to change and think outside the pre-conceived notions of what it’s all about.   We believe if you can breed you can not only be responsible for your own product you can also help in your own community.    The line between canine legislation and responsible animal husbandry is a tough line to navigate.   In other words just because it is legal does not mean it is right.

Ciera Staffords has many strong convictions but we respect each person’s right to choose how they operate in the dog fancy but it is our hope to be a good example of  Responsible Strategy in a Changing Dog World!

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Official Standard

We place emphasis on breeding as close to the official AKC Breed Standards as possible, with Type, Temperament and Soundness being of equal importance. In our quest for balance we try to avoid the extremes on either end of the Bull and Terrier scale. Since the Stafford is a dog that originated in the UK it would not be appropriate to leave out "The Kennel Club" Breed Standard. For an in-depth visual look at the AKC Standard please check out the Illustrated Standard and the Breed Seminar on the Stafford Knot website. We also recommend the article On Balance by Jason Nicolai (article posted with permission of Homebrewed Staffords). The SBTCA also offers a superb Illustrated Standard which I highly reccomend that anyone considering a Staffordshire Bull Terrier buy one. You can contact treasurer@sbtca.com to purchase a copy.

Thank you for visiting our website. If you would like to know more about our future plans for breeding or shows we will be attending, please send an email to: Lorelei Craig, Ciera Staffords or browse our website further through the tabs along the top of this page. We look forward to hearing from you.
